If you haven’t already seen the scooters, now almost ubiquitous in San Francisco, then you’ve been looking at your phone while walking way too much. Three scooter companies have placed their thousands of these motorized vehicles all around the city and people are using them in droves. Some view them as helpful, carbon-free alternatives while others view them as a nuisance to pedestrians and for the disabled whom have to navigate these new items placed haphazardly on the sidewalk. However you view them, Tom Maguire of the SFMTA just posted that the SFMTA is issuing new permits for these scooters and how this new program will work.
